I have a tandem Tomcat and I love it. I use it for pond, lake and slow river fishing in Upstate NY and it is easier, lighter, more comfortable and more stable than the canoe I have. I have it out almost every weekend have had no problems with sticks, rocks, hooks etc. Great product for those of us that want a good inflatable kayak and do not need a hardcore whitewater boat.

I first used my friends Tomcat Tandem three years ago on the Gulkana river in interior Alaska. He had three people on his cataraft and had just bought the Tomcat for his teenagers but when we came to the class 3 canyon rapids he wanted to portage it and I asked to let me take it down. Fun, fun, not a problem...needless to say three of our group have one each now and last summer the three of us took them from the putin off of the Glenn highway at the Little Nelchina (clear water, sweepers, tight corners class 1&2 which then flows into the Big Nelchina wide deep fast silty don't fall in type of river which then flows into the Tazlina lake, a large glacier fed lake, beautiful as all hell and about 8 miles down to the mouth of the Tazlina River then another 20 plus miles which we did'nt realize that most of it was four foot rollers. My buddy would be 15 feet ahead of me and he would disappear in the ro ller and reappear, this self bailer would fill up because of so much water volume and then drain. We had done many Alaskan rivers but bit off a little for than we could chew, but it was these little water crafts that helped us through this awesome five days. What an adventure, what a watercraft, for the price you can't beat it!

I purchased a Tomcat Tandem from REI, on the first trip I took it out on the Rogue and it handled Several Class II,III, and IV. I did it roll it on the last IV but that was our fault. This thing just plowed through the waves. Easy to control for its size. On flat water it will get sideways at time. Wind really affects on flat water also, but it does handle well. I highly recommend the Tomcat for beginners and families looking for an affordable, quality, entry level IK.

My family has a Tomcat Tandem that is coming up on its fourth season of use. We've had it loaded with gear and one paddler for camping trips on the John Day, with two paddlers on class III rapids on the Deschutes, and on lakes and flat water. This is a great, stable boat with a lot of load carrying capacity. Thigh straps are a must have addition for use in white water. It lives in a big duffle bag when not in use, so it's easy to take with us anywhere. This boat is very versatile and a great value for the money.

I have purchased a Tomcat Tandem and have just started using it on various Class 2 and 3’s around the area where I live. First I just wanted to say I am hooked I have paddled canoes and Kayaks done rafting trips but this is the most fun I have ever had. My wife goes with me and she is a decent paddler but always a little apprehensive about whitewater and swimming but now I can not keep her away. Thanks!

The Tomcat Tandem provides versatility and performance at an affordable price. It's constructed using a heavy-duty PVC outer shell with double top-stitched seams and 20-gauge vinyl bladders. This boat can be paddled with a friend or used as a single person craft with plenty of room for gear. One-year warranty.
