I just bought this for my wife. What I really wanted to do was buy her a Prowler but I thought it would be too big. I wish I had… Compared to my EIGHT year old Prowler, this tube’s removable seat and floor bladders have yellow plastic tubes sticking out of them; this is recipe for disaster-especially with the floor bladder tube compressed underneath the occupant’s rear end. The cap and valve design for these bladders look marginal in durability and quality. With all the pockets fixed on this craft, the occupant is boxed in and can’t remove them. On the Prowler you can take one or both off. This is nice for your rod hand, a rest for the elbow. If you’re serious about fishing and tubing, fork out the extra 100 bucks and get a Prowler. Unless the design has changed you’ll get a more versatile craft with all valves recessed with robust bayonet caps covering them.

live in Antigua in the Caribbean and guide in excess of 150 days per year from a fleet of Outcast Super Fat Cats. Myself and my clients (most of whom are entirely new to float tubing) without exception find them extremely stable and comfortable platforms from which to cast as we target fish like tarpon and other saltwater gamefish like snook, snapper, jacks and barracuda from them. My only real source of grief is the fact that in the more recent incarnations of the Super Fat Cat – Outcast has for some reason chosen a 2-tone colour scheme…. Not only does this make for extra unnecessary seams to stitch (and to possibly fail) but the fact that 2 colours are present means that each colour reacts at different rates to the UV light. I have purchased 8 Super Fat Cats now and despite a thorough washdown each and very time they are used – 4 of these 2 tone boats have failed in less than 1 year – all in the same place – along the waterline in the lighter coloured tan strip which bleaches out in a month or two to white and subsequently becomes weak and thereby prone to failure. When i initially raised this issue Outcast was quick to point out that they are not warrantied against UV degradation – however Outcast’s original ‘single tone’ green models of the Super Fat Cat both lasted almost 3 years with the exact same usage before the outer skin gave in to the sun’s rays The 2 tone scheme is not a step forward in style in my opinion (I have not managed to impress more fish with it to my knowledge) but rather it is a large step backwards for me financially as I have to replace them 3 times as often. It seems pointless to me at least to warranty a boat for 5 years yet deliberately build in a hidden weakness ensuring it will fail before it has to in a way which is not covered by the guarantee. If I were cynical i would say this is good for Outcast as it helps them to sell more boats…. But it’s bad for me as the consumer as I apparently have no comeback whatsoever in this regard….. And whilst I realise that mine are quite possibly “the world’s hardest working float tubes” – operating in strong sun and saltwater day after day – hopefully this info will heeded by the powers that be and that some future models will be amended taking this information into account – since the basic design and capabilities of the Super Fat Cat float tube are almost flawless in every other respect – and their largest and most serious defect is utterly avoidable.

I love my Super Fat Cat! I’m a big guy, 6’2′ and 280 lbs. and my Super Fat Cat easily handles my size. It’s very stable and handles well on the water. I’m mostly in saltwater and it’s very robust. I’ve bumped into docks and rocks and yet to have a problem. I read the review from the guy who thinks the valves on seat and back cushions are a problem, but I have no idea what he’s on about. The covers on the seat and back valves are just dust covers and don’t have anything to do with the valves sealing. Honestly, they’re fine. I’m very happy with my Outcast tube and I’ve yet to see anything of higher quality out there. If you want the best, get the Super Fat Cat!

I have had a super fat cat for about 15 years. The tubes nor valves have not leaked. I use it for at least 25 days each year. It fits nicely in my SUV. I think it is the best boat for trout fishing. It is very versatile and allows one to stealthily move about. Better than fishing in my small boat. The only complaint I have is the gear bag zippers have failed. I have to be careful when moving the boat in and out of my SUV so that I don’t lose gear.

Great float tube. I ride high and warm, it’s comfortable, has ample storage, and is tough. Can’t go wrong

I’ve had my Super Fat Cat for almost 15 years now. It just ripped on the seams today. This boat was awesome. I use it in salt water about 40 times a year. Ordering another one as we speak. Well worth the money.

I had my Super Fat cat for almost 14 years year. I use it about 30 times a year in salt water inside the breakwater or in the harbor. This boat is built like a tank. It has tons of storage compared to my other tubes. The air seats are a plus compared to the foam seats. Getting ready to retire my old one and order a new one for Christmas.

Je l’ai acheté pour mon fils Quentin qui débute en tubing. Il en est très heureux, facile à gonfler et à mettre à l’eau, son transport avec des bretelles est très aisé. Parfait pour pêcher les petits lacs et rivières.
