Outcast Sporting Gear was founded in 1995 as the fishing and watercraft division of Argonaut Inflatables Research and Engineering (AIRE). From the beginning, our mission has been simple: bring the toughest construction in the inflatable industry to anglers who demand reliable, high-performance watercraft. Based in Meridian, Idaho, and proudly employee-owned, we design, support, and stand behind everything we make.
Our Warranty — By Product Line
Not all warranties are equal. Here’s exactly what you get:
PRO Series rafts + PAC 1200 (USA-made): 10-Year No-Fault Warranty — the strongest warranty in the industry. Covers defects in materials, workmanship, and user damage including tubes, fabric, D-rings, AIREcells, valves, and zippers. No-fault means we cover it even if you caused the damage.
OSG Series float tubes, frameless boats, and pontoons (PAC 800–1000): 5-Year Limited Warranty — covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
The no-fault warranty is a direct reflection of how much we trust our USA-made construction. When we build it ourselves, we back it without question.
Exclusive Outer Skin: Précontraint Ferrari PVC
Outcast’s outer PVC shell is manufactured exclusively for us by Ferrari Textiles. No other fishing watercraft manufacturer has access to this proprietary material. It’s abrasion-resistant, UV-protected, and built to withstand years of river and lake use.
Superior Base Fabric
Our PRO Series rafts and PAC 1200 use a high-tenacity 1670-denier polyester weave that’s tensioned in all directions before and during PVC application. This creates exceptional dimensional stability and gives Outcast boats unmatched performance and rigidity when inflated — without unnecessary weight.
Smart PVC Design
Our PVC is engineered for durability — not just airtightness. Ferrari coats 70% of the PVC on the outer layer and 30% on the inside, creating a tougher, more impact-resistant outer shell. This allows us to use 37 oz. non-airtight PVC, which holds up better under real-world conditions on the water.
Acrylic Lacquer Finish
To extend durability and resist UV rays, all Outcast PVC is finished with an acrylic lacquer. Our gray fabrics feature a custom dual-layer finish developed with Ferrari for added abrasion resistance in high-contact areas like chafe strips and undersides.
The AIREcell System
All Outcast rafts and OSG-series watercraft feature the AIREcell bladder system — a rugged internal air-holding chamber housed separately from the outer PVC shell. This means the outer material doesn’t need to be airtight, so we can optimize it for abrasion resistance and durability instead. It also means easy repairs: a puncture to the outer shell doesn’t deflate the boat, and replacing a single bladder is far simpler than patching an airtight hull.

The OSG Series (Super Fat Cat, Fat Cat, Cruzer Max, Prowler, Summit) is built for anglers who spend serious time on the water. These tubes feature heavy-duty 420pc / 1000-denier PVC outer fabric and fabric-protected urethane AIREcells — the most durable bladder material available. Backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

The Fish Cat line has been a go-to for anglers for decades. Built with the same durable 1000-denier PVC outer shell and the proven AIREcell system, Fish Cat tubes deliver reliable performance whether you’re on an alpine lake or a slow-moving river.
